The U15 Kirkwood United Girls team put the winter break to good use traveling to Illinois to improve their skills in the Fire at the Beach Indoor Tournament. 

After tying their first game, Coach Domian's team strung together victories in their next three games to take the Championship over the U16 Troy Fire.   Although the final game was far from easy.  Down 1-0 with 45 seconds remaining in the contest, Emily Hartfelder scored to extend the game to sudden victory penalty kicks.  

One by one, Krista Steele, Emily Hartfelder, and Kate Domian buried their their shots in the back of the net.  And finally, Maddie Black sealed the victory to bring home the trophy.

The team had excellent goaltending by Natalie Newman and Grace Springer allowing only four goals the entire tournament.

Looking forward to watching these girls next year at Kirkwood High School!
